Explore the Scenic Rim
1hr drive south west from πBrisbane
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the many lands within the Scenic Rim - the Mununjali in the Centre, the Wangerriburra to the East, the Ugurapul to the West, and all those of the Yugambeh and Jagera language groups. We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of the lands where we work, and travel through. We pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.

Favourite coffee spot? Canungra Hub Cafe. It was our first stop in Canungra, after leaving Greenlee Cottages we set off for the trip to Ramsay, before we hit the road we stopped off at Canungra Hub Cafe. Specialising in organic ingredients, local or home-grown and prepared fresh, the Hub team prides themselves on everything being home cooked.
Favourite places for grab and go lunches? Before heading home we made our way through Toowoomba, if there is one recommendation you do; make it The Bakers Duck. Located in the heart of Toowoomba the bakery is a collaborative venture between two pioneer hospitality families in Toowoomba - the speciality coffee of Ground Up Espresso and the artisan sourdough and pastries of The Bakers Duck. We grabbed ourselves a smorgasbord of treats and sat in the park to enjoy them in the sunshine. I still dream of their pork, fennel and apple sausage rolls. Sometimes I even consider a day trip for one!
Favourite place for a dine in dinner? What's a road trip without a pub dinner?! The Bull & Barley Inn is located in the heart of Cambooya, a quaint country town nestled on the city outskirts south of Toowoomba. With good old fashion pub food and cold beer, it was the perfect way to finish off our trip!
Favourite activities? Nash Horse Trekking was so much fun and an incredible way to see the local area that cars can't get too.
Favourite spot for sunrise and sunset? I'll never forget one of our Airbnb's MountView Homestead, waking up early, curled up in a blanket on the porch watching the sunrise with a hot coffee in my hand. A very simple setting over the property, but one not to be missed.
Favourite time of year there and why? Our road trip was at the end of June, and I honestly loved the cool crisp weather and late nights in front of a fireplace.
How can people best support the region? Support small business! My favourite part of the trip was learning about the region and meeting the business owners, they have so much knowledge to share and some incredible produce to try!
